Fusion Students: Bringing Student Living to Life on Campus

Fusion Students is a leading UK-based provider of purpose-built student accommodation, renowned for creating vibrant, design-led living spaces across major university cities. Their residences blend premium amenities such as gyms, cinema rooms, and communal lounges with a strong focus on wellbeing, community, and sustainability. With locations in cities like London, Liverpool, Nottingham, and York, Fusion offers more than just a place to stay; they deliver an immersive student lifestyle designed to inspire, support, and connect.

The brief

Fusion Students approached GottaBe! Marketing with a bold and unconventional challenge: “We want to create a version of our student accommodation and take it on tour across London universities.” 

The objective was to raise brand awareness, increase student engagement, and drive leads through an immersive experience that would replicate the look and feel of Fusion’s student living spaces — all within the busy environment of a university campus. 

Since our first campaign in April 2025 we have expanded our partnership with Fusion working across Manchester, Leeds, York, Liverpool, Nottingham, and London to bring brand experiences to campus and drive awareness and value for the brand.

    Mechanics

    We developed a mobile experiential stand designed to capture attention and communicate Fusion Students’ unique brand identity. The activation aimed to bring key features of their accommodation offering to life in a fun and engaging way, stopping students in their tracks. 

    We hit the road, taking the Fusion Students experience to four different universities: 

    • A faux washing machine installation to reflect communal facilities 
    • A real bed setup to demonstrate comfort and design 
    • A basketball court to showcase community and lifestyle 
    • Prize giveaways to incentivise interaction 
    • A brand partnership with Jimmy’s Iced Coffee to offer product sampling 

    When faced with logistical limitations at UCL, which couldn’t accommodate our original 6m x 3m footprint, we quickly adapted the design to a compact 2m x 3m version. This agile reconfiguration maintained the essence of the experience while ensuring compliance with site restrictions, proving that standout brand experiences don’t need a huge footprint to be effective. 

    Since our first campaign we have developed further branded vehicle activations offering a ‘Create your own Cookie’ activation that encouraged students to pick whatever toppings they liked. Much like Fusion accommodation offering a host of amenities to chose from.

    For the launch of Manchester we also created a VR experience at a student shopping activation to drive experience and to allow students to get a feel for the accommodation that was still being built at the time.

    Results

    The campaign was highly successful:

    Engaging with over 15,000 students across 8 different universities
    Over 3,500 leads captured
    Almost £350,000 in bookings generated
