15 things you didn’t know about GottaBe!
It’s the 1st of March; for some, this may not be a significant day, but for us, it’s a day to celebrate, as it’s our official 15thbirthday here at GottaBe!
15 years ago, our founder, Tomasz Dyl, set out on a mission to change the face of marketing.
Since our inception in 2008, we have established ourselves as a leading marketing agency, specialising in providing innovative and tailored marketing solutions to clients in various industries. Over the years, we have expanded services, moved into larger premises, and continued to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Birthday Message from the Managing Director and Founder, Tomasz Dyl
“Setting up a business during a global credit crunch is not an easy decision, and it’s even more challenging when you’re 17 and have never run a business before.” However, through perseverance, passion for what we offer, and hard work, we managed to get where we are today: serving global clients and working on some fantastic campaigns up and down the UK, as well as in Europe, the USA, and Australia.
We’ve accomplished a lot in the last 15 years, from growing the team from one to twelve (and soon to be more) to winning numerous awards ranging from Young Entrepreneur of the Year to Business Leader of the Year, not to mention Marketing Campaign of the Year!
None of this would have been possible without the people who work here and have worked for us, our friends, and our suppliers, who are always willing to go the extra mile for our clients. At the end of the day, it’s our client’s product and our people who make things work. Your product, our people, “Here’s to another 15 or maybe even 150 years of GottaBe!”
15 things you did not know about GottaBe!
To celebrate our 15th birthday, we thought we would share 15 things you might have yet to learn about GottaBe! This year it’s our mission to get ourselves out there more, so we thought we would share some hidden facts about ourselves, and maybe you could share more about yourself in return.
1 – We have received 8 Awards so far
We have received 8 awards in the previous 15 years, including Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, the Institute of Promotional Marketing (IPM) award for Best Experiential Agency, the award for Best Use of social media in 2018, and Marketing Campaign of the Year!
2 – 75,000 miles are driven on average each year to deliver campaigns
We are a team that is here, there, and everywhere. There is no sitting still at GottaBe!
3- Over 450,000 words were translated in 2022
Here at GottaBe!, we are experts in multicultural marketing. One of our tried and tested techniques that we do in-house is translating marketing collateral to better meet the needs of our clients’ target audiences. Overall, last year we translated over 450,000 words into 30+ languages.
4- Our managing director is 32!
At the age of 17, our Managing Director Tomasz Dyl founded GottaBe! during a global credit crunch. That makes the managing director of this 15-year-old marketing agency 32 years old.
5- The average age of the team is 27
Here at GottaBe! We have a diverse crew in terms of gender, race, ethnicity and age. The average age in the office is 27.
6- GottaBe! has made 5 European trips in the last 15 years
Because of the nature of our services and clients, we collaborate with brands worldwide, which necessitates international travel. GottaBe! enjoys travelling, and Europe is one of our favourite places, which we have visited five times in the previous 15 years.
7- Office dogs on the horizon?
Even though we don’t have a current office dog, we have had one in the past, Leila. We love animals at GottaBe! and the team is currently working on convincing Tomasz to bring another puppy into the office.
8- There are 49+ languages spoken at GottaBe!
Here at GottaBe!, we are multicultural marketing specialists, and what makes us so specialised in this area is that we practise what we preach. Our team is overtly diverse; from office employees to brand ambassadors, we can collectively speak 49+ languages.
9- We were the first agency in the UK to create an OOH campaign in a foreign language
GottaBe! delivered the first OOH campaign in a foreign language for one of our money transfer clients in 2009. It was shown across OOH placements up and down the UK.
10- PR, media planning and buying were the first two marketing services that GottaBe! offered.
Back in 2008, when GottaBe! was launched, we opened as a PR, media planning and buying agency. Since then, we have expanded and now offer a full service to provide solutions to our client’s marketing needs.
11- Since founding 15 years ago, GottaBe! has delivered services to 400–450 clients

12- We hosted our first brand event in 2022 – Everyone Doing It Together
It is our mission here at GottaBe! to connect brands with the 9.3 million ethnic minorities here in the UK. Last year we hosted the very first EDI -Together event on June 8th at The Drum Labs with agency decision makers in attendance to discuss how we go about improving equity, diversity and inclusion in our industry, both from the perspective of recruitment but also within the output of work we produce for our clients.

13- We will host two birthday celebrations and share exciting news to mark our 15th birthday!
You only turn 15 once, and to mark the celebration, we will have two get-togethers with colleagues (past and present), suppliers, clients and friends during March. Keep an eye on our socials to see behind the scenes content.
14- The gender ratio in our headquarters is 45% women and 55% men.
Here at GottaBe! we are all for empowering women and work closely with Women’s Business Link to support women in business. In our headquarters, we are proud to say that the office split between males and females is 45% Women and 55% Men.
15- We have offices in England and the Republic of Ireland
Our clients are spread across the UK so whilst our main offices are in Southampton and London, we also have a third office in Dublin.
